Hey, my big family!!!
Here I am again with another newsletter to update you on the great things God has been doing around here. I hope that as you read this, you can also celebrate with me! :)
This last season has been marked by: many learnings, arrivals and departures, pauses and renewals for the Glory of God!
The pursuit of knowledge and development cannot stop, so in August, I attended a workshop focused on Staf from the Training and Discipleship School at the Montana Lakeside base.
We had the honor of hearing testimonies about the first groups of missionaries sent by YWAM from Joe Portale and his wife Judi, who joined YWAM in 1969, starting the first French ministries in Switzerland, France, West Africa, and the Refugee ministry in Thailand.
It was incredible and inspiring to see them sharing how God has led them through a long journey of faith and impacted the nations that received the first wave of missionaries sent through YWAM.
Between arrivals and departures!
Living in missions is experiencing countless arrivals and departures, but I can say that in missions, the arrivals and departures have a different flavor and end up being something rewarding to experience. They are departures that carry and leave hopes, with arrivals that bring beautiful stories and testimonies that are answers to the prayers we have made. How can one not rejoice in all of this?!
Well, August was marked by the sending of the Summer School to the Philippines with 6 young people who said 'YES' to missions in this season. They will be there until the beginning of November 2024, serving and evangelizing in the local communities as God leads them. When they return, it will be time to hear the great things God has done—in and through their lives.
September not only brought a new season but also a new group as passionate for God as the one that was just sent. The Fall School brought 8 new young people from 3 different nations who are preparing to take the good news to Japan from December 2024 to February 2025.
It’s amazing to see the map of the world marked with steps of faith and a desire to make God's name known, alongside living great transformations in one’s personal journey with God.
One could say that you can serve God anywhere, but the best part is serving God where He has called you. Being here in Salem is exactly what that means for me.
So, the mission continues here too! The local ministries at the base have been impacting the city of Salem and its surroundings, whether by talking to people who don’t yet know God on the streets or by seizing opportunities to invite our brothers and sisters to join the mission through mobilization. No opportunity should be missed, right?
A NEW SEASON AND GOD'S PROVISION!
I realize that for each new season, God also gives me new challenges, and I am extremely grateful for that!
In this new time, God entrusted me with a new ministry—the KITCHEN! While it’s not entirely new to me, it undoubtedly brings new learnings and responsibilities! I’m excited about what this new challenge will bring and for what God has to do in me and through me during this time.
Once again, God has shown that He is always moving in unimaginable ways: a few months ago, we had to stop serving meals for all the workers at the base due to the impact on our finances. In light of this situation, we continued in constant prayer and intercession for God’s provision, and in the last week of September, we received a donation of $10k to cover all meal expenses for the workers at the base for this quarter!
ALLELUIA! We have a God who hears our prayers and reveals how much He cares for His people!
We constantly live in miracles! From the people who are sent, to those who arrive, and even in the donations we receive, all of this reveals the power of prayer!
IT'S ABOUT LIVING GOD'S PLAN!
I believe that even with little experience, I am already able to testify how wonderful it is to live God's plans. I see how the journey I have followed has completely transformed my life, and I know that trying to explain this can be difficult—to explain and to understand—but I carry within me a burning desire to encourage more and more people to live the same, and I'm not just talking about being part of the mission like I am, but in the WAY THAT GOD HAS FOR YOU!
As it says in the Word: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
The hope we find in Christ is unparalleled, and living this makes us want to overflow more of the same into other people.
What joy to be part of this great commission! What a blessing to live the great and small daily miracles that only God can perform in our lives! What an honor to serve and be part of something much greater than myself, and still be able to give the GLORY for all of this to God!
Give Thanks with me/us!!
For God's provision in our kitchen
For the arrivals and departures of the new young people and great friends
For the privilege of being able to hear testimonies from the first generations of YWAM missionaries and from the new ones who have just arrived
Prayer request:
Pray for my family in Brazil—one of my sisters and my parents have been going through some health issues, and this undoubtedly affects us in some way.
Pray for this new season: that more people may be impacted through our ministries and willingness to serve the Lord, here where we are or wherever God sends us!
Pray for my time serving in the kitchen, that I may be attentive to God’s guidance and, above all, serve this important ministry for the mission in the best way possible!
How can I pray for you?
It will always be a pleasure to pray and intercede for your life, so please share if you have any specific prayer requests for this time. Click here or send me a message in the way that works best for you!

Thank you for being part of this journey with me; your support has undoubtedly been the way God has used to help me persevere, and I am very grateful for that!
